Stephanie is available for whole day or half day conferences, courses, workshops or seminars, focusing on all aspects of Literacy. 

She has a reputation for delivering exciting, interactive training, providing teachers and teaching assistants with practical ideas to take away. 

For large groups, courses can be co-delievered with colleagues from the Professional Literacy Company - Gill Matthews and Kevin Jeffery.

Courses currently available include:

  • Read it, Talk it, Write it - puts a quality picture book at the heart of a unit and leads teachers on an exciting journey of reading, through speaking and listening, and into writing. It focuses on the teaching of strategies to develop reading comprehension and Higher Order Reading Skills; Book Talk; Drama; and the teaching of writing, both narrative and non-fiction. This could be aimed at FS and KS1, KS2 or the whole school.
  • Writing for Real: focuses on writing for purpose and audience, exploring the teaching of fiction and non-fiction writing in detail. It begins with a practical experience, encouraging teachers to collaborate in a writing task. This could be aimed at FS and KS1, KS2 or the whole school.
  • Lighting up Writing: uses a variety of media to stimulate writing - film; photographs; paintings; picture books; music; drama; artefacts; experience. This could be aimed at FS and KS1, KS2 or the whole school.
  • Mind the GaP: teaching grammar and punctuation through quality texts. In a non- threatening way, the course explores the grammar and punctuation requirements. This could be aimed at FS and KS1, KS2 or the whole school.
  • Talking the Text: focuses on developing speaking and listening skills and expanding vocabulary through interaction with texts, games and drama activities.This could be aimed at FS and KS1, KS2 or the whole school.
Alternatively, bespoke courses can be created to meet the exact needs of the audience.
